Gag cartooning is where most cartoonists served their apprenticeship and although, in the current market-place, it doesn't play a huge role for the freelancer, it still offers the chance to produce off-the-wall ideas, unfettered by such considerations as 'the brief'.

Here is a small selection of my gag cartoons for Punch, Private Eye and the American edition of Reader's Digest. They range from the Punch cover on this page, published in 1986, through to some comparitively recent work (The Private Eye Christmas cartoons).
